Club News
When you are at Club on Sunday, please check out the black board on the club grounds advising what events are coming up - and talk to one of the committee members if you are able to help out - or want more information.
You should notice that committee members will be wearing name tags to help identify them. Please don't be shy, we are trying to run the club FOR YOU. Without your input we don't know what you want - so please speak up. Believe it or not we are all quite friendly.
Regional Council Possum Control Operations
Please be aware that from time to time the Greater Wellington Council carry out Possum Poisoning in the area, using 1080 poison.
All owners should check out the following link for information about 1080 and what pre-cautions to take for your family and your dog
**The full copy of the letters received from the GWRC are available in the club rooms - please check the club rooms as updated letters may be posted there and not updated on the website - be aware that these poisoning operations do occur**
Re-homing of GSD's
The club frequently gets call and emails from people wanting to find a new home for their GSD that they are unable to keep for any number of reasons. The club would like to help these people to find new loving and caring homes for these dogs and therefore would love to hear from anybody looking for and older GSD.
If you are looking for an older German Shepherd that you are willing to re-home, or have a GSD that you can no longer keep you can email us E-mail us
Or
give Olive a call on 04-565-3663
Be Part of the Club
This web site like the Club Magazines needs input from YOU the club members to keep them current and interesting for everyone to enjoy.
We welcome feedback, stories, pictures, tips and ideas. Please forward anything to either the Website or the magazine editor. Without input there will be no output and I'm sure everyone enjoys visiting an updated web site or reading an interesting club magazine.
The WDGSDC is your club. To keep it running we need people to get involved and help build it up so it can be enjoyed by everyone.
We need input from everyone, and wish to get everyone involved. If you have any suggestions or idea on how we can be better, raise funds etc. please talk to a committee member or E-mail us with you ideas.
Don't forget after Sunday Training come into the club rooms for a cup of tea or coffee and meet the other GSD owners.
Trainers
Anyone out there keen to give up some time on a Sunday to help with training.
The club would love to hear from anyone who has any experience with any level of dog obedience and who is willing to make themselves available for an hour on Sundays to help out with running an 8 week training course.
