New Zealand Champion
Tolpan van Noort

2nd November 1991 - 23 February 2005

On this day we lost a treasured member of our family.  His girls, Freddie and Ixi, sorely miss Tolpan as we do. Thanks for all the good times Mate, forever in our hearts

When the Time Comes

If it should be that I grow frail and weak
And pain should keep me from my sleep,
Then will you do what must be done,
For this--the last battle--can't be won.

You will be sad I understand,
But don't let grief then stay your hand,
For on this day, more than the rest,
Your love and friendship must stand the test.

We have had so many happy years,
You wouldn't want me to suffer so.
When the time comes, please, let me go.

Take me to where my needs they'll tend,
Only, stay with me till the end
And hold me firm and speak to me
Until my eyes no longer see.

I know in time you will agree
It is a kindness you do to me.
Although my tail its last has waved,
From pain and suffering I have been saved.

Don't grieve that it must be you
Who has to decide this thing to do;
We've been so close--we two--these years,
Don't let your heart hold any tears.

CH Tolpan Van Noort 2/11/1991 - 23/02/2005

From the outposts of Europe to the winning fields of NZ.  He came as Tolpan van Noort but to me simply Tolpan. His character and colour stood out and his performance from Auckland to Otago with many Best In Shows to his credit, endorsed his wonderful pedigree and his will to run.

A King by name and a clown by nature, he always gave it his all and then some more. His retirement at the 2001 National in the deep south in Invercargill and the fitting tribute shown by all exemplified the esteem he was held in throughout the country.

I am sorry mate l was not there for you when you passed away, but l guess you cry a little, laugh a little, wait for the clouds to roll by a little and remember the good times we shared.
So farewell old friend, miss you so.
